I have a background in Psychology and Mathematical Statistics with a PhD in Quantitative Psychology from the University of Amsterdam. My work combines advanced statistical modeling with substantive questions in mental health and social sciences. I enjoy working at the intersection of methodology and societal relevance. I am particularly motivated by translating complex processes into clear and principled models. Outside of academia, I enjoy long-distance trail-running, road cycling (preferable in the mountains), soccer, and attempting to grow some vegetables in my garden. My research focuses on social connection, loneliness, and the dynamics of social networks. Methodologically, I work primarily with Bayesian statistics, network models, and complex dynamic systems. I am interested in understanding how individual processes and social environments interact – and how we can model these interactions in a rigorous and transparent way. |
